Press Release: Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken

If you read our A Note from Us post, you will already know the reason as to why we haven’t been posting lately. We put our reading and reviewing on hold for a while, however when we received an email regarding this press release about one of our favourite authors, we knew that we wanted to share it with all of you. This press release is about Rachel Van Dyken and her new book Ruin:

Bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken has taken the book world by storm with back to back chart toppers The Bet and Elite.

Recently Ms. Van Dyken announced that her beloved uncle Jobob was in his final stage of cancer, which has left his family in debt from medical expenses.

It’s hard to sit back and do nothing–the waiting game is never easy, so Rachel decided to do something and is looking to her fans for support in more ways than one for her next book.

Due to be released on August 12, 2013, Ruin is dedicated to her uncle, mother in law, and all cancer survivors and families who have lost loved ones to the disease.

For the first two weeks Ruin will be priced at $2.99. Proceeds from the sale of Ruin will be donated to her uncle and his family to help with the insurmountable medical bills.

The links to purchase Ruin aren’t up yet, but when they are live we will post the link here.

I’m not your typical girl. I’ve been running away from the memories that haunt me for so long that depression has become my only comfort. I was content in the darkness…until Wes Michels offered to be my light.

I didn’t know that time wasn’t my ally — that every second that ticked past was one step closer to the end of something that was beginning to mean the end of myself. He tried to warn me. He promised me all he was able to offer–each moment as it came–but it would never be enough.

Sometimes when you think it’s the end, it’s only the beginning. Wes thought he could save me, but in giving me everything, he ruined me. Because after one kiss, one touch, I couldn’t–I wouldn’t ever be the same.

And from that moment on, his heartbeat became my own.

We were lucky enough to be sent an ARC of Ruin and will  post up a review, when we feel like we are up for it. Thank you all again for your continuous support of our blog and we hope to be back to reading and reviewing soon.
