It’s Wait for You as you’ve never seen it. Trust in Me lets you in on Cam’s side of the #1 New York Times Bestselling story.
Cameron Hamilton is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. But when Avery Morgansten comes crashing into his life – literally – he finally meets the one person who can resist his soulful baby blues. But Cam’s not ready to give up. He can’t get the feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.
Avery has secrets, secrets that keep her from admitting the feelings Cam knows she has for him. Will persistence (and some delicious homemade cookies) help him break down her barriers and gain her trust? Or will he be shut out of Avery’s life, losing his first real shot at the kind of love that lasts forever?
On one normal college day, Cameron (the leading main character of the novel) is walking the college halls, minding his own damn business when a small red head literally collides right into him. He finds out that her name is Avery and from the moment of their collision, he is consumed by his thoughts of her. After catching a luck break and being partnered up in their astronomy class, Cam, being the keen bean that he is, hatches a plan to get Avery to fall for him. This proves to be a very difficult task for the boy who can usually get any girl with the snap of his fingers. Avery is the sweet, innocent girl who is kind of a nerd (not that there is anything wrong with nerds! Go nerds! ) and Cam is the polar opposite. He is the popular, outgoing, party guy of the school, which every girl has fallen for.
In an effort to get to know Avery, Cam repeatedly asks Avery on dates and to his surprise, is rejected every single time (whoo you go girl! Make him work for it!).
Avery’s rejection of Cam just makes him want her more, for the boy who has always gotten everything and anyone he has set his sights on, her rejection just increases his determination to have her. Over time, he gets to know her and eventually wears her down enough to go on a super romantic and swoon-worthy date, where they surprise surprise end up as girlfriend and boyfriend
In typical NA style, the pasts of both characters are full of secrets that they haven’t revealed to each other- bringing up issues in the trust department. Suddenly the cute-sy relationship hits a big bump in the road, testing out their relationship and ability to be open to one another. The storyline follows the typical formula set by other NA novels. You know, the-whole-boy-meets-girl-but-then-one-or-both-parties-have-secret-pasts-that-makes-it-difficult-to-trust-each-other-then-they-work-it-out-and-live-happily-ever-after. If you enjoy these storylines where each character has a damaged and broken past then I believe you will also enjoy this book. I read this as a Stand alone, however this novel is the alternate POV to Jennifers highly successful first novel, Wait For You.
Trust in me was a good novel to pass the time. There’s still the romance and cutesy relationship moments that we all love and also some steamy scenes in true NA style. I loved the banter between Avery and Cam and reading a guy chase after a girl in the way that Cam did, just made it much more sweeter when they finally got together (even though you knew it was going to happen eventually). Also the fact that Cam could bake just made him much, much sexier in my eyes 😉
I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series which follows Jase (Cam’s best friend) and Teresa (Cam’s sister) in their journey of love.
One last thing to mention before I go, is how much I loved the cover! I’m loving the cover image and the green/aqua-y colour of the font. Please let me know if you read the book, as I would love to hear your thoughts on it 🙂
