About Emma:

By day, New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to a terrible two year old and growing bump, due September 2013. By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of juice and writes books.
She likes to write about magic, kisses and whatever else she can fit into the story. Sarcastic, witty characters are a must. As are hot guys.

Emma is currently working too many books to even count – including Playing for Keeps, the companion book to New York Times and USA Today bestselling novel, The Love Game. She likes to be busy – unless busy involves doing the dishes, but that seems to when all the ideas come to life.

Synopsis

How long does it take for a long-distance relationship to break down? Sixteen months.
When Jen and Carl put their relationship to rest after Christmas, Jen’s biggest problem is going back to London ten days earlier than planned – and her ever-present attraction to Samuel ‘Bing’ Edwards.
Bing has no idea why Jen left Devon so fast. All he knows is that he wants her as much as he did the first day he laid eyes on her – so spending time with her while Lexy is still in Devon isn’t exactly a hardship for him. When he finds out she’s single, the only thing on his mind is finishing what they started at his dad’s fiftieth birthday party.
Feelings that have been a long time building between the two explode, and they both find themselves sucked into an easy yet passionate relationship, with Bing determined to prove to Jen that she’s it for him. That she is The One.
But in a city like London, the odds are stacked against them, and there’s always that one person ready to stir things up… And Jen doesn’t know how much of that she can take – even for the guy she loves more deeply than she ever imagined, and eventually she breaks.
Bing isn’t down with that. He wants Jen, and he wants her by his side for good.

Jennifer Mason must learn that Samuel Edwards doesn’t do giving up. Especially not when his forever girl is involved.

Our Review

Have you ever had that feeling where you can’t help but love and loathe a person at the same time? How no matter how much a person annoys you and drives you mad, all you can think about is them? How said annoying person, manages to get so deep under your skin that you can’t get them out? Well if you said yes to the above and you have experienced this, then you’ll understand how Jennifer Mason feels about Samuel ‘Bing’ Edwards.

Sam Edwards, is just that, he’s the infuriating person that drives Jen mad. From his smart ass remarks, boyish charm, playboy ways and devastatingly handsome good looks, Sam drives Jen to the utter brink of insanity. How is it that a perfectly sane person can end up wanting someone who drives them absolutely crazy? Wouldn’t that be crazy in itself? I mean, Bing is the man whore of the town, like the town bicycle, everyone’s had a ride, actually not really… Bing is pretty selective in who he has his indiscretions with.. but still. The point is that he has had more notches in his bed post, than the length of the bed post itself! How could a sane person, want a guy who has never settled down; and is quite content with their playboy ways?

Jen Mason was always his little sister Lexy’s annoying best friend. He always loved to tease Jen and she always gave it back, they’ve always had a bit of a like/hate relationship – I say like because the word love isn’t quite right in describing them. Sam is arrogant and cocky, I mean he has a right to be right? He is that damn hot! –  with brown mocha coloured eyes. But after seeing a glimpse of Jen after many years had passed, Sam just can’t get Jen out of his head. The trouble making blonde with the big blue eyes, grew up in more ways than one. She matured.. well actually she didn’t she just got feistier and sassier.

Their relationship is quite humorous though, it’s very playful and fun, take for instance this line here:

“Hey!” I get in next to her. “Piss off with the door slamming.”(Jen)

She gives me an evil look out the corner of her eye. “It’s the door or your face. Whichever one you’d prefer, Samuel. Personally, I’m down for whatever.”

I start the engine, smirking to myself. “I wanna say face because it’s a part of me, even if it isn’t the body part I’d rather you be slamming right now.” (Sam)

Or this line here:

“You’re not as bad as you were, I’ll give you that, but you’re still like a dog on heat sometimes.” (Jen)

“You realise it’s the females that have heat, right?” (Sam)

Her lips curve into a smile. “That’s the point I’m making, Samuel.” (Jen)

Now, a book wouldn’t be a book without a villain and I need to bring said villain up. Heidi is her name and she is downright nasty, with big fake boobs, barely there clothing and has an all-round air of  skankiness about her. Said skank is the cause of drama in Jen and Bing’s relationship.. that little wh……ale.

Anyway, Heidi gets whats coming to her… a nasty STD. Jokes, I’m not that mean. But I am mean enough to shame her with this brilliant line from Jen:

“I was just bringing you a few things from our time-” (Heidi)

“Really? You have used condoms?” Jen puts a hand on her hip. “There’s a bin at the end of the drive. In fact, while you’re dropping them in there, just climb in yourself. That’s where trash belongs, after all.” (Jen)

Emma has written a wonderfully amusing book filled with hilarious, comedic narration. Jen is a firecracker, I’d call her the main person in the book because her character is just that, a genius. She’s all sass and she doesn’t hold back anything she is thinking. She is protective and is the biggest smart ass! Not to mention she has the nicest ass according to Bing 😉 She says some of the funniest lines in the book that literally makes you go, ‘who in the world says that sort of thing’. She is sort of a weird goofball who doesn’t care what anyone thinks and that’s what kind of makes her awesome.

I loved the relationships in this book! Lexy and Alec were so cute that I felt compelled to read the first two books to get a better understanding of their relationship. The character relationships in ‘Always Remember’ are so genuine, it reminded me of some of my friendships, where you have the funny goofy friend who can make you laugh at anything (Jen), the friend that’s a bit of a princess but is still quite lovable (Lexy) and the pretty hot boys who gets the attention of every female within a 10 foot radius (Alec and the smoking hot Sam); they were just real relationships and it resonated well with me. Still Jen was my favourite, I couldn’t believe half the amount of things that came out of her mouth, from the ‘shit on a lollipop’ to ‘space cadet’ to  ‘buffoon’ + many more! She has what Emma describes as Jen-Tude, and it’s hilarious! She kind of reminds me of me and half the things I say, not exactly the same but things so weird and unique to me that people kind of double take when I say them.

This book is a New Adult book, with plenty of sexual innuendos and steamy scenes, so I wouldn’t recommend it to those under 18. It’s written in a very light, comical, sarcastic way. There is so much witty banter throughout the novel that I enjoyed so much, and I guess that’s reason as to why I really loved Bing and Jen’s relationship. Let me just say that I really enjoyed the ending and Sam’s spiel about how they met and his memories of her over the years, god that was brilliant! Oh! and the story about the jewellery shop. Good writing there Hart! Good writing!

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a light hearted, quick enjoyable read. It doesn’t delve into major emotional issues and it’s simple, easy and fun to read. It pretty much is a book about a normal relationship, demonstrating how love finds you in the most amusing ways, how sometimes if you’re lucky, love has been there all along, it’s been right under your nose. Although this book can be read as a stand alone (like I did), I would have preferred to read the other books before this one as it would have provided me more clarity, character insight and history between each of the characters.

EMMA! I know you’ll read this and I know your not going to write another book for this series, but COME ON! Don’t leave me hanging with Saph + Mitch. That relationship right there is a story to be told, Saph and all her hotness and Mitch and his longing for her… it would make a great story… just saying ;)… Not trying to persuade or hint at anything 😛
